Notarization Requirements

Please read the information below, it will help you have a successful signing and may prevent you from losing money.

Before The Appointment: If you are the Signer -

  • Make sure you understand what you’ll be signing, and are ready to sign at the appointment.

  • Fill in all necessary information, and initials as required by the document(s), except the signature(s). The Notary is only notarizing your signature.

  • Make sure all documents to be notarized are fully completed with no blank lines or spaces for data to be entered at a later date. Any blank lines or spaces will need to be filled in prior to notarization.

Before The Appointment: If you are scheduling for another Signer -
  • All documents should be fully completed prior to the time of notarization.

  • Make sure the Signer reads and/or understands the document(s) that he/she will be signing.

  • NOTE: The appointment is for signing documents. It should not be the first time the Signer reads the documents.

Appointment Duration

When you set an appointment, you will be given an expected duration for the appointment. If the appointment must continue past the allotted time, you may be charged an additional fee.

Everyone must be on time for the appointment and have proper ID (see ID requirements).

Physical Presence

All signers must be in the presence of the Notary at the time of the notarization. There are no exceptions.

ID

Signer(s) of documents must present a valid form of identification to the Notary. (see ID requirements​)

WITNESSES
  • If the document(s) to be notarized require a witness/witnesses be present at the time of signing, it is the Signer’s responsibility to have the witness present.

  • In cases where you don't have someone to bear witness, please inform us when making your appointment.

  • Each witness must have a valid form of ID.

Note: Many hospitals and care facilities do not allow their employees to act as witnesses. If your document needs to be signed/executed in a similar environment and you’re thinking of having a facility employee act as a witness, be sure to check with the facility’s management prior to booking a notarization.
