Do You Have The Right ID?
Notarization is an integral way to deter fraud and ensure the validity of important documents. It’s a key part of the Notary Public’s job to confirm your identity when conducting a notarization. This means that having the right identification is essential when getting something notarized.

-
U.S. Passport
-
Passport issued by a foreign government if the document is stamped by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service
-

Note:
Any form of ID that you use must be un-expired and physically present for the notarization. Please do not present a digital image or uncertified copy of an ID. Present only the original, physical ID to your notary.

What if I don't have an ID?

If you don’t possess any of the identifications listed above, and it would be too difficult or impossible to obtain one due to your current circumstances, then you may opt to use two credible witnesses to verify your identity.
Please have two credible witnesses present, who (1) personally know you and (2) possess their own valid forms of identification that they can present to the notary. They must not have a financial interest in nor be parties to the underlying transaction. Your notary will provide a Credible Witness Affidavit which must be signed by the witnesses and accompany the document being notarized.
If you have any questions about the I.D. requirements, please contact us and we will be happy to help!
